It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is a weekly feature hosted by Kathryn at Bookdate, where we can share what you have been reading, what you are currently reading, and what you’ll be reading soon.
I’ll start with what I finished last week.
As you may remember, one of my 2017 goals was to make some progress on my backlist! I have a ridiculous amount of books that I own but haven’t read (like, it’s legit embarrassing – I have two full bookcases of books I haven’t read! Ahh!) and I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to read some of my backlist books every month! So far for 2017, I’ve read 11 books from my backlist.
Today I want to share some of the books I’m planning to read this year from my backlist! There are SO many I’m excited to finally read, but I’m going to limit myself to these ten.
Alright folks, January has come to an end! Who can believe it?! I feel like we just celebrated the new year! In January, I finished 20 books and did my first Buddy Read/Blogger Interview, which was a lot of fun! In my wrap up, I’ll review the books I read in January, and share some of my favorites!
You may remember that one of my goals for 2017 was to get more involved with the blogging community, and one of the ways I wanted to do that is through buddy reads! I’ll be doing a number of them throughout 2017, and kicking off my very first one with me is Sam from Clues and Reviews! For our very first (but definite not last) buddy read together we’ll be reading:
The Fill-In Boyfriend starts with high school senior Gia getting dumped by her college age boyfriend Bradley on her prom night. In the parking lot of the prom, as a matter of fact (who does that?!). For the last few months, Gia had been telling her friends about her boyfriend, but they hadn’t met him yet because he’d been 3 hours away at college. Gia’s frenemy Jules doesn’t believe her boyfriend exists, so desperate to prove her wrong, Gia asks a guy hanging out in the parking lot to pretend to be Bradley for prom. Then, they’d stage a breakup and none of her friends would be the wiser.
